We will remove and relocate the bees to our apiary. We use the Serge Labesque technique to maintain bee and hive health. I highly recommend attending one of Serge's classes. Did I mention taking a class? Serge has one of the best beginner classes offered.
This was a sad situation for two hives that were able to stop the
workers from chain sawing and knocking over the Martel Train Depot.
The two hives are located in the red and I tryed to save what I could however the comb was covered in pigeon poo. Later discovered that the poo is very toxic to bees and humans. Had the contractor cared,
he could of had a beekeeper come in and remove the hives before the demolition began. All to often we as beekeepers are called to scenes like this and with a little effort, the bees would have been saved.
These are fun Powerpoint converted to PDF, moving two hives from wine barrels to a hive box. Both had red wine in them. I think the bees go for the red...
Thanks to Herb and the good people at Vino Noceto for giving me a call and was successful in saving these hives.
Some other pic's of bees in buildings, vents, barn walls, etc.
They love to make their homes in the most unlikely places.
